Changes to the Training and Assessment Program
In early April 2016 a new Training and Assessment training package was released by training governing body Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).
TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment will be superseded from October 2017 and a new format, the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment will be the industry standard Training and Assessment program.
What are the key changes in the new program?
ASQA requires that the new TAE program be completed over an expanded duration and includes two new core units as part of the program. Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) will no longer be able to deliver TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and need to apply to ASQA to get the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment on their scope of qualifications they can offer.
Learning Dimensions Network are currently working on our submission for our proposed TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
The core units of competency of the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment were updated to include the ‘Design and develop assessment tools’ TAEASS502 and ‘Address adult language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills’ TAELLN411, so for those who have completed the TAE40110 Certificate IV Training and Assessment, your qualification is still valid but you will be required to meet the new credential requirements by 1 April 2019
