Playing Our Part: Workplace Responses to Domestic and Family Violence
Lieutenant David Morrison, the former Chief of Army has said that if Australian deaths in war zones matched fatalities from domestic violence, commanders would be held accountable and forced to explain.
Morrison is a member of the Male Champions of Change, a group of senior male leaders who employ a collective 600,000 employees who use their individual and collective leadership to elevate gender equality as an issue of national and international social and economic importance. Leaders in this group include Mike Smith, CEO of ANZ, Gary Wingrove, CEO of KPMG Australia and Alan Joyce of Qantas and Grant O’Brien, CEO and MD of Woolworths Limited.
They recently released the guide Playing Our Part: Workplace Responses to Domestic and Family Violence. Developed with support from experts, the guide describes actions that organisations can take to reduce the prevalence and impact of domestic and family violence. They include a three-level model to implement these actions and examples of responses from Male Champions of Change organisations.
